Session 1: Flute-a-rama
This unique flute workshop is designed especially for young flutists. Expert
Takoma Park flute teachers Carrie Rose and Melissa Lindon help nurture
students’ love for music and make learning about music FUN!
Each day will feature a variety of music and flute-related topics, as well as
coached ensemble practice. Carrie and Melissa bring a fresh approach to
music theory, rhythm, scales and warm-ups, group playing, music vocabulary,
body awareness and breathing. The final day includes a performance
featuring the Flute-a-rama Ensembles. No matter how long you’ve played the
flute, you’ll come away with ideas and inspiration – and some new friends!
Session 2: Flute-a-rama Boot Camp
This session will be similar in format to session 1. However, the emphasis
will be on tone development, scales, and warmups with the intention of
getting back into shape for the new school year. A new school year can
involve seeing your private teacher again (oh no!), youth orchestra auditions,
and band auditions, so let flute-a-rama bootcamp help you be prepared.
